COURSE OVERVIEW
This highly practical 2 year course has been designed primarily for 16-18 year old students who want to prepare themselves for the rigours of vocational training and, further ahead, a career within the performing arts.
Option A: High-quality dance training to give learners professional grounding in all key areas.
Option B: For the triple-threat performer, with a greater focus on Singing and Acting as well as Dance.

All learners will be entitled to the same privileges as any Further Education learner; for example, student bursaries (if eligible), UCAS guidance, pastoral care, education support, FE enrichment programmes and GCSE re-sit opportunities (if required).
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Successful audition and qualifications at or equivalent to Level 2. GCSE Maths and English grade 4 or above is preferred however there is opportunity for these two subjects to be re-studied at the college if not achieved.

Further Information
Learners will also take part in an industry specific enrichment programme running parallel within their BTEC programme. Features include regular live performances as well as the opportunity to take part in nationwide events such as Can You Dance? and Move it!
Assessment is through practical performances, rehearsals, training sessions, controlled assessments and assignments.
This BTEC level 3 Extended Diploma in Dance or Musical Theatre will allow learners to progress onto university and/or apply to specialist performing arts schools including our 1 year Access to Professional Employment top-up course.
